Consensus Conference on Myasthenia Gravis Treatment Guidelines
On March 1st 2014, Dr. Benatar will be participating in the forthcoming Consensus Conference on Myasthenia Gravis Treatment Guidelines. This conference is organized by colleagues Drs. Don Sanders (Duke University) and Gil Wolfe (University at Buffalo) and is sponsored by the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of American (MGFA).

MGFA Greater Florida Chapter Boynton Beach Support Group Meeting
On January 18th 2014, Dr. Benatar spoke at the MGFA Greater Florida Chapter Boynton Beach Support Group meeting. He discussed current and future treatments for myasthenia gravis.

Massachusetts & New Hampshire MGFA Support Group
On November 2nd 2013, Dr. Benatar attended the annual meeting of the Massachusetts & New Hampshire MGFA support group, where he spoke about current treatments for myasthenia. He also participated in a panel Q&A session.

Annual MGFA Meeting
On May 8-10th 2013, Dr. Benatar attended the Annual MGFA meeting. He spoke at this meeting on the subject of current treatments for myasthenia gravis. MG Clinical Research Consensus Conference
In late 2010, Dr. Michael Benatar (University of Miami) and Dr. Don Sanders (Duke University) assembled a Research Task Force under the auspices of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of American (MGFA) Scientific Advisory Board. The Task Force recognized that the success of therapeutic development for MG has been relatively limited, and that changes in the design and implementation of clinical trials may increase the likelihood that new therapies are developed for MG. With joint funding from the MGFA and Fondazione Istituto Neurologico "Carlo Besta" (INCB)/Associazione Italiana Miastenia Grave (AIM, the Task Force met twice, first in Durham, North Carolina on November 19-20, 2010, and then again in Stresa, Italy on June 14-15, 2011. Attendees included neurologists from the United States and Europe, statisticians, industry representatives, patients with MG and members of the lay board of the MGFA and the European Myasthenia Gravis Association (EuMGA). A report summarizing the content of these conferences and the consensus recommendations of the Task Force has been prepared and submitted to the journal Muscle & Nerve for publication. Once published, we’ll include a summary of these consensus recommendations on this website as well as a link to the published manuscript.

12th International Conference on Myasthenia Gravis and Related Disorders
The 12th international conference on myasthenia gravis and related disorders, jointly hosted by the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America and the New York Academy of Sciences, was held on May 21-23, 2012 in New York City. Additional conference information can be found at www.nyas.org/MG12.
